Match Report – 4th Match: Saffron Strikers vs Nutmeg Warriors

Nutmeg Warriors won the toss and chose to bowl

Saffron Strikers registered a 25 runs victory against Nutmeg Warriors in the much looked forward to match up of two of victorious teams on match day 1. Warriors inserted the Strikers to bat after winning the toss and found early success capturing three quick wickets. Nickozi St. Hillaire (28) and Ryan John (29) helped to stabilize the innings. Mickel Joseph came in with the fall of the 4th wicket and in nine balls scored 32 runs which included 4 mighty sixes the last of which was hit out of the ground. Strikers scored 106 of their allotment of overs, Haston Jackson did his damage early in the innings picking up 2 for 7 in his two overs, Andre Fletcher picked up two wickets at the back end of the wicket conceding 21 runs off his two overs.

Kem Charles was the star with the ball, he had Andre Fletcher caught brilliantly on the covers boundary by Shermon Lewis for 4, with Fletcher’s dismissal in the first over warriors found the going difficult, Kem Charles in the 3 over picked up another 3 wickets and ended with figures of 4-13 from his two overs. After 3 overs the Warriors slumped to 19-4 a position in which they never recovered from, they ended on 81 for 8 in their 10 overs. Darel Cyrus was able to add some respectability to the scorecard, he top scored with 39 which included 3 fours and 3 sixes.
