Match Report – 30th Match: Saffron Strikers vs Ginger Generals

Saffron Strikers won the toss and chose to bat.   

Saffron Strikers won the final match of the round robin phase of the tournament to finish atop of the points standing after the first phase of the tournament.

Strikers batting first on wicket which produced the tournament top score in the earlier match did not have the urgency in their batting as previous matches and finished on 104 for 2 after their 10 overs. Kendel George and Mickel Joseph shared an unbroken stand of 55 for the 3rd wicket which pushed them to over 100 at the end of the inning, Joseph finish with 31 while George had 18.

Ginger Generals innings lacked fluency and the batters scored at a pedestrian pace as the fell short of the target by 19 runs with 9 wickets in hand. Roland Cato was the lone batter out for 7 in the 3rd over. Daniel Mc Donald the other opener was joined by Keone George who shared in a partnership of 62 for the 2nd wicket. Mc Donald scored 39 from 32 balls while George scored 20 from 23 balls. In the innings the Generals failed to hit a 6 and only scored 7 boundaries.
