Match Preview – Playoff 1: Cinnamon Pacers vs Clove Challengers – 27th Match Spice Isle T10 2nd Edition

The two teams to finish at the bottom after the group stage of the tournaments faces off against each other for the second time in the tournament.

Clove Challengers winners of one of their 8 matches will be looking to put the disappointment of the group stage behind them and look to win this matchup against fellow strugglers Cinnamon Pacers. Challengers will be looking to bank on the rich from of Darron Nedd who has the two highest individual score of 82 and 76 in his two most recent knocks in the tournament. Challengers failed to win any of those matches and will be hoping greater support can be provided to Nedd by the other batsmen.

The Challengers bowlers have suffered from a lack of discipline with the ball, they gave up 118 and 131 in the last two outings and will be looking to be better with the ball against the Pacers who scored 122 against them in their first match up.

The Pacers who have been playing decent cricket as off late without the desired results will be buoyed by the last outing when they defeated the Ginger Generals by 6 wickets. Their bowlers have delivered well for them in the latter part of the group stages and will be looking for another good start with the ball from Jonathon Taylor and Jamie Buddy who have both bowled well lately.

The onus will be on the batters of the Cinnamon Pacers to help apply pressure of the attack of the Challengers, Desron Maloney in his previous knock had his first substantial score (32) of the tournament will be looking to sign off with another good performance. Alick Athanaze last season top runs scorer has a final opportunity to make a mark with the bat on this year’s tournament.
